Abstract
Basement walls also often perform the function of the foundation in most cases. Only when the boundary adjacent to the grunt of external structures is protected by thermal insulation, it will be possible to safely use them. The main reason for the protection of underground external structures by thermal insulation is that the amount of heat lost through underground external structures is about 20% of the total amount of heat lost from the building. When heated in the basement, a layer of thermal insulation keeps the basement wall from freezing. This helps to prevent condensation, prevent the appearance of moisture and the development of mold pressing.
