Abstract
This article discusses challenges students face while speaking English: insufficient practice time, limited opportunities for oral production, restricted assessment systems, and the negative effect of stress on their communication performance. To address these issues, innovative pedagogical approaches—particularly the Flipped Classroom—have increasingly been implemented in recent years. The discussion-focused Flipped Classroom allows students to engage in independent preparation and participate in active, purposeful in-class discussions, which helps them develop stronger speaking skills.
